Hi! I'm Colleen, proud owner of Boston Ever After. As a mother of two toddlers and Kimbo the cat, this is my fourth baby! I got my start in the beauty industry officially when I was 14 years old. Not quite ready to take on the task of doing hair and makeup for clients on their wedding day, I was hired for kids' birthday parties to braid hair, paint nails, etc. I knew from the moment I started my freshman year at Minuteman Regional High School for Cosmetology, that I wanted to run my own event styling business.
In 2006, i passed my state board exam and officially became licensed in the state of Massachusetts. There was no Instagram, Pinterest, or Snapchat; I had to build my company the old fashioned way - hard work and word of mouth. I learned a lot of things about business the hard way and I am grateful because it helped direct and shape my dream company.
In an ever-evolving industry, continuing my education and training is SO important to stay relevant and motivated. I've trained with L'Anza, Kevin Murphy, Aquage, Make Up For Ever, Temptu, Bobbi Brown, and many many many more.
Any shows, webinars, classes I can get to, I'm there. I am constantly trying new makeup and hair care products to build the best kit for my bridal clients. Cruelty-Free, Vegan, Organic, and Gluten-Free products are so important for me to offer, so I'm always testing to see what meets my standards.
When I'm not totally absorbed in the world of Weddings (you don't want to know how many "inspiration" photos I've screenshot), you'll find me with family, probably a coffee/Red Bull in hand, and wearing all black, all the time (what else goes with my ever changing hair color?). I'm a true East Coast chick; I need to know there's an ocean at least within driving distance at all times.. and a dunkies for bonus points. I'm an Aquarian to the bone- a dreamer with follow through. :)
My goal with my business is to curate a team that feels as passionately about bridal beauty as i do. I want Brides across New England to feel extra special on their wedding day, but still feel like themselves. Year one of Boston Ever After has been amazing and brought my busiest wedding season ever. I am so grateful to all of the wonderful clients I have been lucky enough to work with.
